Facebook Innovation: Video Advertising in the Site Mobile Version

In March 2014 representatives of the social network Facebook announced the start of sales of video advertising in the mobile site version.
Video advertising will appear in the users’ mobile device news. Commercials will be played automatically without sound or with it, if a user desires. Duration of an ad will amount to 15 seconds.
To date, only a small group of advertisers has access to video ads. However, according to the announcement of the social network representatives, this option will become available to all advertisers in the future.
Facebook intends to closely monitor their users’ interaction with these ads by using different services. «We're doing these steps to maintain the highest quality of ads on Facebook and help advertisers understand what works better in order to maximize their return from investment,» – it is said in the company blog.

Samsung’s Genius Advertising Solution

Advertising is everywhere. Colorful banner or advertisement with special effects can't surprise anybody now. What should one do? How to attract attention to your brand? Samsung company solved this problem the best way anyone could. And we would like to present the company with its own «Oscar».

During the 86th Academy Awards ceremony lead by Ellen DeGeneres, she took a picture, that instantly spread around the Internet and gained thousands of «likes» and reposts. The photo was taken with the Samsung Galaxy and, as it turned out, it was not an accident. It is reported by «The Wall Street Journal» referring to an anonymous sources.

Samsung spent about $ 18 million on advertising during the broadcasting of the ceremony. The company even paid to NBC which broadcast the ceremony and Galaxy phones were inculcated in the show. Samsung gave their several phones to use them during the ceremony. So one of them fell into the aristocratically thin hands of Ellen DeGeneres who hosted the event.

Amendments to the Copyright Act

The Internet is the most important source of information, as well as a platform for its effective dissemination. The purpose of an adman is a thorough inspection of the content posted on their resources. However, on March 12, 2014 the State Duma adopted amendments to the Civil Code regulating this activity on the legal basis. According to these changes, the Copyright Law extends not only to movies and TV series, but also literature, music, computer programs. If the service provider cannot block a site with unlicensed information, he has the right to block the entire portal. Now the absence of fault for the violation is necessary to prove and a group of persons on the Internet may be brought to joint and several responsibility. Search engines and file-sharing networks are not recognized as violators because they are not required to check information for being licensed. In case of a violation copyright holders may receive a compensation in the amount of 10,000 to 5,000,000.

Vigilant monitoring and constant verification of the information does not only help to avoid financial losses and litigations, but also keep up the reputation.
