How Internet Resources Content Affects Consumer Buying Decision?

New Media on The Internet
The Nielsen Company conducted a very interesting study on the impact of Internet content on the process of making a purchasing decision.
Users learn three types of content on the Internet before making a decision to purchase goods. First of all, these are expert articles, reviews of independent experts, detailed descriptions of the pros and cons. Secondly, they read ordinary consumers’ reviews on forums or pages. Thirdly, they address the official site of the company, as well as the descriptions given by the representatives of the brand. Judging by the research data the experts’ reviews is the most reliable source of information. They play an important role in the choice of certain goods. Consumers are less likely to use customers’ reviews. They are not considered a reliable criterion for quality of goods. This is due to the fact that the brand agents’ comments are actively disseminated оn the internet in order to earn money.
Therefore, the most effective way to promote a brand is gathering expert opinions and evaluations, as well as the desire to improve the quality of the product, rather than creating fictional reviews on various resources.

Ways to Use Infographics to Visualize Information

New Media on The Internet
Infographics is a special method of presenting data using graphic images. The main advantage of this method is presentation of material in a simple and original form, maintaining informative and logical order. Infographics is widespread in print and electronic media, as well as various Internet resources. Currently it is used in static graphics format that makes it easy to create, download, and send the resulting image. However, this format is losing its popularity and novelty because of the increasing information saturation that is causing the search for more effective methods of information visualization. «What will become of infographics in the future?» Ross Crooks, cofounder of the infographics firm Column Five, rounds up some of the most interesting trends impacting the discipline.

According to the specialist, one of the most important trends in the development today is the use of interactive formats of infographics. Flash infographics allows presenting multiple layers of data in a single interface. It is convenient for developers and users. Another important modern trend is the use of motion and animation in infographics. This method has more impact on the audience as compared to static images. But this is not all the possibilities of infographics. Real-time data visualization and user-interface design are future trends that will change the picture of the role of infographics as a way of presenting information. «Intuitive» interactivity for the user and the ability to store, process and rapidly transmit massive amounts of data will open up new prospects for the use of infographics in various fields.

When in 1968 the crew of “Apollo 8” spaceship stepped on the surface of the Moon for the first time their well — known photo was taken. Nowadays we know it as “Earth Rising”. The only thing they lacked to make their success complete was Instagram as it could add the filter to the photo.

Today, Instagram has finally laid their way to space. On 8 April, 2014, astronauts from the International Space Station uploaded the first photo with the color filter they had made in space.
The photo, placed in the official Instagram-account ISS, is created as a selfie. On the photo we can see astronaut Steve Swanson in a seven-window module of the ISS observatory.
Swanson arrived to the orbit on March 25 together with Russian astronauts Alexander Skvortsov and Oleg Artemyev as part of the 39th expedition. The astronauts created an account several months ago and uploaded there their pictures of the flight preparations.
It is possible to notice that in recent years NASA has been attracting the public attention actively using social networks. They started using YouTube and Twitter, and are now turning to Instagram.
